AFD worked structure fire at a business near SE 3rd & Ross. Crews found active fire in back room full of papers & files. Fire under control and FMO is investigating. 1 FF sent to hospital for heat exhaustion. He’s doing better now.

AFD called to a fire in 3700 block of SE 14th. 1st arriving unit saw hvy smoke and fire coming from roof of house in rear. FF’s made entry into back of bldg to search for victims. Crews found more fire in attic & extinguished it completely. No injuries. Small dog rescued safely

AFD crews have been working a 2 Alarm fire this morning at an abandoned apartment building downtown. No injuries. Avoid the area of 10th & Jackson today if you can.

Fire fatality last night. FF’s have worked 3 fires since the weekend started. This is also the 4th fire death in 12 days, all accidental. We hope this is the last of it. Stay safe!

Please avoid the area of 16th & Georgia and the frontage road of I-40. 3 alarm fire at old Ambassador hotel. Crews have a good knockdown working now to clear bldg.

Stay clear of AMA Blvd. & Mississippi - Westbound down to 1 lane. Crews working major car wreck.

Please also avoid Western & Paramount. Crews working a rollover in the intersection.

The AFD is working a fire at SE 27th and Ross at a tire shop. Please avoid the area and avoid this intersection for travel today. We have lines across the roads and the entire intersection is shut down. We will likely be there all day.

The Amarillo Fire Department has sent the AMBUS with multiple personnel + Chase Unit & Amarillo Medical Services has sent 5 ambulances to assist in Perryton. Our thoughts & prayers are with those communities affected.

PCFR, Pantex fire, AFD, TXDOT, Fritch fire, Potter Road and bridge graders and city of Amarillo graders are on the scene of a fire that is on both sides of 136 moving south towards Amarillo. 136 is closed due to fire smoke and crews working in the area.
