Don’t know if it’s having grown up in Queens and living upstate now, or my work at MTA and NYC Water, but have been unreasonably excited about riding the subway and drinking the tapwater on my trip to NYC this weekend

In the coming year, we’re making investments to take on stubborn categories of crime:  ✅ $40 million to crack down on retail theft ✅ $40 million to combat domestic violence & support survivors  ✅ $35 million to fight hate crimes & protect our most vulnerable communities

Rape is rape. Thank you Governor Kathy Hochul, Brad Hoylman-Sigal 🌈🥯 and Catalina Cruz, Esq.. Today the Governor signed this bill, a necessary strengthening of our laws to support survivors. Just one example of the important work that can be done with a strong woman in leadership.

Proud to have played a role in developing this exciting proposal. Child tax credits are proven to be the largest driver to reduce poverty. This expansion will make a real impact on the lives of children and families in New York.

Yesterday, child tax credit increases. Today, continuing to invest in and prioritize child care. Thank you Governor Kathy Hochul for your leadership. I’m proud to be a part of your team.

I want to make the largest expansion to the New York’s child tax credit in our state’s history. It’s what our working families deserve.

As New York’s first mom governor, I know the early years are the most expensive. That’s why in 2023, I expanded the child tax credit to kids under 4 for the first time. This year, I want to support parents even more – by tripling the maximum benefit for kids under 4 to $1,000.
