Year 5 had a brilliant day at the National Space Centre! 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀 🚀

Year 6 have been working with Derbyshire Police and our local PCSO to learn about knife crime. They have produced some fantastic posters! Well done to Charvi, Landen, Emily and Aizah who won the poster competition and received a free ticket for Oxygen Freejumping in Derby.

Year 3 had a fantastic time this week Derby Museums. They learnt how to make fire, cave paint, use stone tools and clothes. Children also handled animal bones including a huge mammoth tooth! We also saw the impressive Bronze Age Hanson log boat that was found in Shardlow.

Year 4 had a brilliant time this week at the Think Tank Science Museum in Birmingham. 🌟

Well done to the AJA football team who came 3rd in a tournament this week. ⚽️

Thank you to everyone who supported us at the Christmas Fair. 🎄The children did a wonderful job with their stalls and we raised over £800. 🎅

This week, we had a lovely time at Alvaston Parish Church for our annual Christmas service. The children sang beautifully and we enjoyed listening to Reverend John telling us about the meaning of Christmas. ⛪️

Happy World Book Day! 📚 Thank you to the secret parent readers who surprised their children and appeared to read a story to the class. In assembly, children enjoyed guessing the masked teacher readers and taking part in buddy reading sessions mixing the classes in the afternoon.

This week, Y4 visited a local Hindu Temple where they witnessed a Pooja ceremony, tried on traditional clothing, and admired the beauty of the Mandir. 🪷

Y3 Mayan Day - We made Mayan baskets and worry dolls, used VR headsets to discover our spirit animal and explored the Mayan landscape, including the rainforest and its animals. We also wrote in hieroglyphics using a quill and ink!

Well done to Zayan, Oscar, Ava and Poppy who won the Red Nose Day design a nose competition. 🎨🌟

Cooking quiches today in Year 5. 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳
