Today, the Senate voted to appoint Nancy Skinner to the CA Energy Commission. As a legislator, she pushed policies that chased refineries out of the state & gave more power to the unelected board she was just appointed to. Our cost of living is already too high. I voted NO.

Once again, CA Dems are prioritizing criminals over victims. SB 672 would offer parole to certain killers sentenced to life without parole, just because they were “youthful” when they committed their crime/s & have served 25 years. I'll be voting NO when this hits the Floor.

Democrat lawmakers are finally waking up. We’ve been sounding the alarm for years: their excessive regulations/taxes are driving refinery closures, tightening supply, raising emissions and pushing us toward $8 gas. It’s not too late to work together & protect our fuel supply.

Sen. Marie Alvarado Gil (R-Jackson) said Skinner was being rewarded with a post at the very agency she expanded through legislation. “Those who toe the line get rewarded with very comfortable appointments.” Adding “imagine what she will do without accountability by the public.”

Fun fact: Senator Marie Alvarado-Gil is the 18th resident of #JacksonCA to serve in the #CAaleg. Others have included Assembly Speaker/Senate Pro Tem/US Senator James Farley, State Senate Minority Leader Anthony Caninetti, and W W Cope (later the 6th CA Chief Justice).

I'm voting NO on SB 672. It would let out so-called "youthful" killers. The worst of the worst: mass killers, bombers, drive by shooters, those who kill an on-duty firefighter. It’s not just wrong, it's an insult to victims & their families. Tell Senate Dems: STOP SB 672!

And, despite even Dems calling for CARB Chair to resign, today Senate Dems blocked an opportunity to stop the LCFS 65-cent gas tax from also taking effect July 1. Another failure to bring real relief to Californians.
