My teen plays a lot of sports. Including flag football. Last week, a kid grabbed on to his shorts and ripped them completely up his leg (!). Good news is, they won anyway. Better news is that Gymshark sent him a new pair, free of charge! Thank you #Gymshark for being decent!

Hi from #FallBreak Day 2. Taxes, hanging some pictures (and a wayward shower curtain rod), 2 article proposals, and a flag football championship game! And all of that is before I spend tonight putting final touches on another chapter and sending it off. Happy "break"!

This morning's 1980s conspiracy theory: The American Heart Association is a corporate plant to scare people into buying 'synthetic' processed foods because otherwise nobody would buy processed foods that don't taste as good. Honestly, this one resonates with me...

This is the worst gov't in Jewish history. In the middle of an existential war, they: - steal army intelligence to scuttle a hostage deal; - push legislation to indemnify and pay draft dodgers, while reservists do +300 days - refuse state inquiry into Oct 7 intel failure

This is indeed a weird night to be pulling an all-nighter writing a chapter about a crisis of faith in the two-party system and how it led to extreme anti-federalism and conspiracist thought. Stress-eating a healthy greek salad isn't going to cut it.

I know you're all thinking about important things but I just want to highlight that instead of curling up in any of her favorite places, Macey has decided that her job is being my moral support during late night writing sessions. Harry Truman was right. Dogs are the best .

"And whose fault is that? Not really his. He didn't create this situation of fear. He merely exploited it -- and rather successfully. Cassius was right: 'The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves.' Good night and good luck. " -Edward R. Morrow (1954)

The ticket splitting tonight is making my head spin --- but telling that it is almost all in direction of R at top and all kinds of D further down.

Okay, so here's a tiny thought. What if all the abortion items on the ballots actually hurt Harris by facilitating ticket splitting. Like, if I vote to secure abortion rights in my state, I can vote for president on the basis of other issues and don't need to vote Harris?

Zoom is wonderful because you can have grading accountability parties with colleagues and at the end of three hours you've actually collectively accomplished something! Yay colleagues! Yay Zoom! Yay getting grading done before the actual end of the semester!

RIP my bingo card for December 2024. It's 9 days in and already a shambles: 1. Assad's gone 2. UPenn Italian tech-bro-gym-rat-anti-woke guy is maybe the CEO shooter 3. Clemson in the CFP I pretty much would have bet against any of these (even though I love our Tigers)

Hey Manischewitz. Faculty advisor here at a pretty big football location (Go tigers!) but we can't find any of the Retzlaff matzah boxes in GA or SC. What gives? College football and Pesach are kinda big deals for us....
