Malthusianism is the idea that population growth is potentially exponential while the growth of the food supply or other resources is linear, which eventually reduces living standards. This event is called a Malthusian catastrophe

Why governments plan to loose all opportunities of industrialization is beyond me. If we want to setup 9000MW solar plants, every PV Solar panel manufacturer would like to come to Pakistan and assemble here and create jobs. All we need is duty free components and tax on built up

SriLanka august inflation was 70%! Country is tattered. Gdp shrinking. Lenders are quarreling and suing for their financial gain while country men pay the price. Can someone do a case study?

The origin of the grandfather of the new PM of UK is gujranwala. He immigrated to Kenya SB then UK. Doesn’t he become a Pakistani Hindu who has risen to this office. The mayor of london too is Pakistani. If we are so capable outside our country, why not here.

Lesson of history. Prime Minister should be elected by general public in a national election, like USA, instead of 178 persons in assembly. This crisis could have been averted if we the public had elected our PM.

Role of Bureaucracy is to follow processes to maintain stability. They work on single entry accounting. Departments are provided a budget and they have to spend. Growth, meeting targets, improving productivity, competing in the world is not part of their culture. No wonder SOEs

Punjab government in its wisdom to reduce smog is shutting down schools, factories, shops and anything and everything which contributes to the development of the province. And not stopping farmers to burn their farms. The source of smog. Wow

Almas Hyder (@almashyder) 's Twitter Profile Photo

After a beautiful morning rain and great weather, smog is lifted from lahore. I was expecting the provincial government to withdraw their notification of closure of nearly all businesses. There is no point in keeping the businesses closed for tomorrow. It’s still a wait.

Most developing countries are plagued in the post-colonial era by inadequate local governments that contrast with their former colonial rulers’ robust local systems at home. The extractive orientation of colonizers, meant less money and effort was invested on improving local gov

On the controversy on payment of fixed charges to the IPPs, why can’t the additional unused capacity be utilized by paying just the variable cost? This electricity be made available to industry!

Import liberalisation only feasible when u can match with exports. Unfortunately we have no exportable surplus due to weak industrialisation Without industrial growth importing luxury items will not help growth as we are experiencing
