Spent some of my Sunday afternoon writing back to new applicants. Can honestly say I love reading UCAS forms. And not in an ironic way.

So easy to forget what an important moment those UCAS forms capture. I remember slaving over mine, rewriting endlessly in my smallest script

Clearly, I wrote mine in the Olden Days, when my school had heard rumours that you could print from your computer, but didn’t know how to.

But seriously: it’s great to read sixth formers striving to articulate why they think they might be writers. Hard to find those words.

And, as the Creative Writing A Level is killed off, I’m reading loads of teens saying, I thought writing was silly until I studied it @ ALev
