Field visit during my Short Term Scientific Mission at Universität Freiburg . Isotopic composition of soooo many trees being measured in-situ!! Super cool setup with the hoses and automated sampling! Thanks @nat_iso and Laura (: WATSON Cost Action

We had a full day of seminars today in H2K! We updated each other on what we are working on, with intriguing and exciting results. From floods to droughts, hydrological modeling to fieldwork. Great discussions! Thank you @IljavM and Jan Seibert for organizing!!

Where is all of this water coming from? Is it overbank flow? Groundwater table rise? Local rainfall? And how does it relate to forest vegetation? Come find out in my presentation at #EGU24: Thu, 18 Apr, 17:30 - Room 2.31 (red floor) Session: Advances in Forest Hydrology

During such extreme crises, science has even more importance Great to see the fundamental work by many colleagues and friends from Instituto de Pesquisas Hidráulicas during the floods in Rio Grande do Sul They're leading real time forecasting, flood mapping, post-flood disaster activities and more

In this paper in Hydrological Processes we showed that terraces remain flooded for ~40 days per year based on field data, for floodplain forests in Minas Gerais, BR. We also showed that river overbank flow plays an important role in flood dynamics. Open access: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/hy…

I thought it was inspiring to read the favorite papers of my colleagues! It's a nice reminder that we can motivate each other in science 😊 I also contributed to this competition. Go check out if you're curious of what is my favorite paper in catchment hydrology.

No one is too small to make a difference - as dung beetles demonstrate in their role as (hydrological) ecosystem engineers. 💧👷📐 What a fun experience (and challenge!) to replace my scientific writing style with a creative one. 😃 swissnex.org/articles/dung-…
