BREAKING 🚨: WE WON OUR CASE AGAINST ROSEBANK. The court has ruled the oil field UNLAWFUL and Rosebank’s approval has been overturned. This is a monumental victory in the fight for a liveable future for all.

Breaking: Uplift welcomes a sensible decision from the Court of Session invalidating the decision to approve the Rosebank oil field. Rosebank is a disaster for the climate & will do next to nothing to create the prosperity & stability that the UK needs. 🧵 theguardian.com/environment/20…

Rosebank has been ruled unlawful and the oil field’s approval has been overturned. 🎉🎉 The government will have the chance to remake the decision after their oil & gas consultation concludes in spring 2025.

Today we launch the ‘Goals for a Fair Energy Transition’. The need for the government to manage the UK’s transition away from oil + gas production to renewable energy is now urgent. The transition can only be deemed successful if workers’ futures are secure.

The North Sea’s future lies in clean energy and despite being a wind superpower, we import most of our turbine parts, while communities lose jobs. Vice Chair Pippa Heylings 🔶️ MP for South Cambridgeshire joins calls from unions and industry for £1.1 bn/year to build UK renewables manufacturing.
