President Jimmy Carter's fight against Guinea Worm disease has left a lasting impact on Ghana & the global NTDs community! From 3.5 million cases in 1986 to zero indigenous cases in Ghana since 2010 #GuineaWormEradication #NTDs Centre for NTD Research (CNTDR) - UHAS Coalition for Operational Research on NTDs

This is another area of neglect. In northern Ghana, Interventions were put in place and there are laws prohibiting the practice. But why are the interventions not yielding expected results? What can we do differently to stop FGM? Implementation Research holds the key.

There the need to use Implementation Research tools to identify implementation bottlenecks of FGM eradication interventions and design context-specific strategies to end the practice of FGM.
