I’m working at Meta today. It’s tough time for many here and at other big and small tech shops. Yet, I personally don’t feel mistreated by my employer. In fact, I don’t really recall being mistreated by any of my past employers. I wonder if it’s just a personal mental choice?

i loved my time at openai. it was transformative for me personally, and hopefully the world a little bit. most of all i loved working with such talented people. will have more to say about what’s next later. 🫡

After learning today’s news, this is the message I sent to the OpenAI team:

I wouldn’t misquote the paper as providing evidence that transformers don’t generalize (which may be true). Nevertheless, good research support to somewhat anecdotal feel on the state of current AI as being unable to generalize.

Elon stopped being fan of OpenAI (and I guess Sam specifically) years ago after transition to capped-profit structure. Everyone has their bias.

✅ Assuming Ilya Sutskever is still at the board then one practical move is to convince just two more board members. If one digs in, the majority of the current board (3 out of 4) can just kick one out and then resign or do the needed to transition governance to the new board.
