Good to see Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP showing his support for providing a secondary school in Burnham. Parents preferred to put children in Comprehensive schools out-of-county rather than a failing secondary modern, which Bucks Council closed due to falling up-take. Comprehensive Future

"The fact that grammar school admissions can be gamed by those who can afford private tuition highlights the inbuilt unfairness in the 11+ system. When a family’s wealth can buy advantage in our state education system, something has gone terribly wrong.”inews.co.uk/news/education…

Cry for me Britannia. Over 85,000 children in Britain living in extreme poverty. Nursery-aged child hospitalised due to malnourishment, caused a heart condition, teeth removed. Govts prioritise arbitrary fiscal rules, won't tax the rich, redistribute. bigissue.com/news/social-ju…

Steve Coogan explains the reason we have sewage in our rivers & lakes is because of a 35yr failed experiment with water privatisation, its a broken system & the private companies have extracted over £80bn in that period. "It should be taken back into public ownership"👏👏

Fossil fuels aren’t cheaper. They’re subsidised, deadly, and dirty. Renewables are cheaper, cleaner, and create more jobs. The only thing keeping fossil fuels alive? Tory donors and Reform’s oil barons. #JustTransition #UnionPower

Rupert Lowe: I call it Pakistani rape gangs... 95% are Pakistani Emily Maitlis; That's absolutely not true... 224 white grooming gang suspects were found compared to 22 Pakistani suspects... why do you only talk about Pakistani grooming gangs?

What is an inclusive school? We welcome this report working to give a useable definition. It suggests inclusive schools “take a representative cohort of pupils from their community, and achieve good outcomes for all these children”. schoolsweek.co.uk/inclusive-scho…

Absolutely the same position here. Segregation does not benefit our children, and those who can pay (for tuition) reap benefits, the rest do not. And Buckinghamshire Council continue to pretend it's a fair and equitable system. It's neither. #end11plus

So many children spend their summer holiday prepping for the stressful 11+ exam. ☹️"I’m told by multiple parents about pupils training five times a week and going to specialised camps throughout the summer holidays." manchestermill.co.uk/backstabbing-c…

Horrific scenes in #Gaza, with hundreds killed just for seeking aid; people are #starving and forcibly displaced; and senior Israeli officials use dehumanising language, proposing to concentrate Gazans into a mass detention camp. This has to stop and we must prevent #genocide.

It's the summer holidays but for children sitting the 11-plus in September it's a stressful time. One teacher said, "she’s seen children in floods of tears on the day of their exam, telling her that they’ll be in trouble with their parents if they fail."manchestermill.co.uk/backstabbing-c…

Grammar schools top the new look league tables. If schools are compared purely on the results of children they actively filtered in, it’s no surprise they win. Inclusive schools, working with a broader mix of learners, simply cannot compete. schoolsweek.co.uk/grammars-top-l…
