Impressive segment of convection has developed to the North of the London with an uptick in lightning activity. Strong wind risk with this as it traverses NE.

Here is verification for yesterday's forecast: Most activity occurred inside Level 2 zones, however the most intense storms occurred just north of the main Level 3 zone. It seems there were reports of wind damage in Kent too. I'd maybe give a 5/10

We agree with Charlie Kirk on basically nothing. Except that he deserves the right, as every human does, to speak freely without the threat of violence.

The scourge of gun violence and political violence must end. The shooting of Charlie Kirk is the latest incident of this chaos and it must stop. We cannot go down this road. There is no place for it in America and we wish for his recovery.

Fairly frequent lightning with some of these showers and storms moving E across England.

Convection attempting to organise into line segments, moving NE now towards the London area. Very strong low level shear profiles may encourage some locally strong wind gusts. If any proper line segments can develop, a tornado can't be ruled out.

Models starting to converge onto a very wet end to the week for parts of Ireland, Wales, S Scotland, N England. In particular Cumbria may see >100mm rain by Sunday with orographically enhanced rainfall.

'Frontogensis' at its core is just the strengthening of a temperature gradient. The easiest way to do that is to have winds convergent towards the gradient (as we do now). It's no wonder we have seen such widespread heavy rainfall as a result!

In bed, recovering from a brutal chase. My 82nd core penetration did not come easy, but it did come. Got into #Typhoon #RAGASA's eye on Hailing Island #China around 6 pm. Storm was decaying but violent. Eyewall was gusty, explosive, micobursty. Lots of damage to hotel & trees.
