I’m elated to share the first research article from the lab. This would not have been possible without the hard work from my lab members and collaborators. I also have a special thought for our co-author, Jay Shulkin, who passed away recently. See thread in the tweet below.

Postdocs are a critical part of the scientific endeavor and are often under appreciated. However, it is the one time in our careers that we come closest to just "doing pure science."

Let's remember that first line and most efficacious treatments for congestive heart failure, which have improved and extended millions of lives are diuretics. They don't even target the same organ system, let alone etiology or pathogenesis.

I try to spare my international friends the gruesome details of what’s going on here. But I recently talked to a friend who apparently had no idea that the casualties were civilians, abducted from their homes and taken to Gaza. This is just one story of dozens. Think about them.

What do people do at other institutions to improve patient access for translational researchers campus-wide? Are there centralized approaches like integrating something into the patient portal? Other methods? Thank you!

We are looking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow for a fully-funded position in the Hutment Lab Tata Institute of Fundamental Research - experience in neuroscience would be an asset, but is not an absolute requirement. RTs to spread the word would be much appreciated.

Psychoanalytic theory stipulates that a consolidated self construct is disrupted in several personality disorders. A clever study of mouse behavioral responses to a mirror suggests that some aspects of self representation can be explored in mice. cell.com/neuron/fulltex…

Recruiting a postdoc for a collaboration with Alexander Harris to investigate how reward processing and working memory are affected by exposures to early life stress and exhaust fumes. Thanks @NIEHS for recognizing the value of animal models to study environmental injustice!

A great talk by Jayeeta Basu NYUNeuro last week in our department combining slice and in vivo imaging and computational approaches to study memory. She was on my floor as a postdoc and has been unstoppable ever since.
