The Canadian Civil Liberties Association (Canadian Civil Liberties Association ) is NOT an Environmental NGO. They're headlining our Webinar on Ontario's #Bill5 because it's an unprecedented threat to civil liberties, to the rule of law, and to the supremacy of our elected legislature.

Bill 5 is going to set Ontario's conservation efforts back decades. I'm so glad to see that Ontarians are coming together to say to this government that we will fight back to protect the people and places we love in Ontario. There's still time to make your voice heard. Let

It took me a year to get this data because Shoppers Drug Mart didn’t want it public. It reveals Ontario taxpayers footed a $61M bill for more than 1.2 million meds checks done by Shoppers over 14 months, via Toronto Star: thestar.com/business/shopp…

Focus Ontario: The Ford government's Bill 5 has raised concerns that the province is giving cabinet unilateral power over yet-to-be-named economic zones in Ontario. We spoke with the CCLA and Independent MPP Bobbi Ann Brady about the worry. #onpoli

In 2024, Doug Ford and Sylvia Jones closed 100 #wastewater testing sites across Ontario, providing coverage for 75% of the population with an operating budget of $15M or $1 per person per year as Ford & Jones pay Galen Weston $62M for #medschecks reviews.

As I've been saying for years now, WE MUST BAN FOR-PROFIT TEMP STAFFING AGENCIES IN HEALTHCARE. These experts also agree. New Report Shows For-Profit Staffing Agencies Drained $9.2 Billion From Ontario’s Hospitals Over 10-Year Period - businesswire.com/news/home/2025…

This isn’t about aesthetics. Not about taste or class or nostalgia. It’s about math. If a neighborhood can’t pay for itself, building more of it won’t fix the problem. It will make the problem worse.

And that is exactly why I voted against Bill 5 at second reading last week. Bill 5 is an unprecedented and extraordinary attack on Indigenous rights, environmental protections, democratic accountability and workplace laws. Bill 5 will give the Ford cabinet the power to create

Boom! Ontario's Labour leaders are warning that the government's proposed #Bill5 would let @FordNation turn any city, region or workplace he chooses into a lawless, union-free zone. 🧵👇 thetrillium.ca/insider-news/g…

Accurate but misleading: it won't be Bill 5 that removes labour protections, but regulations passed with the powers that Bill 5 grants. Unless amended at committee the current text does not include any limits on its use (except of course the limits of the constitution)

Doug Ford is legislating lawlessness with Bill 5. Entire regions where "designated projects" and "trusted proponents" don't have to follow laws. Of course we need to harness the Ring of Fire—but we can't risk giving Doug Ford unchecked power. There's no telling what he'd do.

#Bill5 is the latest & most extreme in a series of bills replacing consistently-applied RULES w arbitrary favour-granting by individual politicians. This is turning us from citizens into supplicants, w. something to gain from playing nice & lots to lose from challenging.

The budget features a deficit of $14.6 billion, pushing Ontario's debt to a $489.8 billion, more than 51% higher than what the Ford government inherited from Wynne's Liberals.

As we face an economic crisis, just wild that Doug Ford's 2025 budget has cuts — including investments below inflation, which are cuts — and freezes across the board for human services. Protecting Ontario clearly doesn't mean protecting people, let alone investing in them.
