India needs more theatres, more screens, more opera and play houses all over the country. Our apathy towards arts, culture and entertainment industry must be replaced with support from people, Govt., and corporates. Our development narrative should include scope for this.

Look at any developing or developed country, the ratio of public places for drama, films, & community activities to the actual population is much higher than ours. If arts & culture is not fostered, promoted and encouraged no society can really 'develop'.

Problem is that in academic, bureaucratic and corporate circles we lower the value of art & culture by sweeping it under the 'entertainment' carpet. But all entertainment is also education. Nations are built on songs the people sing.
