Regarding the Turkish or Persian Blue debate, it’s important to know the origin of the word “turquoise”. Originally from Medieval French, meaning “Turkish (stone)”. This stone originated in the Iranian city of Nishapur (Khorasan) and Turks brought it to Europe. Hence the name.
