Extremely excited to see our paper out in nature! How does the body respond to SARS-CoV-2, and what happens if you don't get infected after exposure? We unravel the exact timeline of the cellular responses to inoculation with SARS-CoV-2 in humans. (1/4) nature.com/articles/s4158…

Two papers in nature present a new genome editing technique that enables the insertion, inversion and deletion of long DNA sequences at user-specified genome positions. The approach may provide an easier method of genome editing. go.nature.com/3RGkI8M go.nature.com/3RHBvIs

Recently, two seqs showed up from an infection originating around June 2020. Only a minuscule fraction of such cases are sequenced, so a non-trivial number of people have likely been infected for 4+ years. That's over 1450 days of infection. Long-term consequences: unknown.

Pleased to share our work on how early sars CoV 2 viruses were showing biological changes that later defined omicron. In particular reduced spike cleavage efficiency Signatures of omicron-like adaptation in early SARS-CoV-2 variants and chronic infection biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
