And Gmail has tied basic stuff like spell checking to this "Smart Features" option. So to get basic spell checking you have to opt in to the full AI scanning of your emails.

Dave Jones I wonder if this is country specific, as I've just checked and these settings are all turned OFF in my gmail (set up in, and generally accessed from, the UK) - and I definitely didn't turn them off myself. Quite surprising, given what a dystopian s***hole the UK is becoming. 🤷‍♂️
