The 2021 Vidonia from Suertes del Marques in Tenerife from Gerard Maguire is one of the best wines I’ve had this year. Highly mineral yet with a slight waxiness and notes of green apple, stone fruit and citrus pith. Enough oak to add some luxury but never takes over. Show-stopping!🤘

Telmo Rodriguez shared his vision for the future of wine making in Rioja . We tasted the first vintage of his single vineyard wines where the focus is on terroir and the growers rather than the aging process. The wines are really impressive. Telmo Rodríguez vinostito

Aoife does a great piece in the Irish Independent today on the shift in Rioja to village wines. Telmo Rodríguez is pioneering this move with the 2020 vintage. His wines are of the highest quality vinostito

Tuesdays aren’t Tuesday in December as you all know (though this is a modest 12%😇) High altitude Garnacha,DO Madrid, feels like the grapes are harvested early, but there is no green-ness, only lovely ripe strawberries on the palate and a lick of spice. Serve cool. Great value!

As @JulieDupouy1 says ‘experience the mysterious’ in an article on Biodynamic wines in TheGlossMag . While there is certainly a little in the philosophy that steps outside convention, there is no substitute for the commitment to biodiversity. Great wines selected by Julie

Leslie leslie williams writes a nice piece on textured whites in the Irish Examiner and highlights a wonderful Aligogé from Sylvain Pataille who in my opinion is one of the leading producers of this varietal and indeed of Marsannay wine. Thank you Leslie
