On 30.03.22, while on my mission in the UK, I met with the Diaspora Business Leaders. The conversation was centred on opportunities for the #AfCFTA among the diaspora community, especially on the positive development potential to help mitigate the development challenges of Africa

The Diaspora is a very important constituent to the holistic development of the continent. Besides acquisition of knowledge and skills, the diaspora remittances surpass foreign direct investments & official development aid. Their role is indeed key in attaining the #AfricaWeWant

On 04.04.22, I received H.E. Ali Redjel, Ambassador of Algeria to Ghana, at the AfCFTA Secretariat. I briefed H.E. Redjel on the progress of the #AfCFTA implementation process and we discussed the many opportunities Algeria could explore under the #AfCFTA

Today, 04.04.22, together with Amb. Solomon Rutega, Secretary General of the Inter-African Coffee Organisation (IACO), we signed an MoU between the #AfCFTA Secretariat and the Inter-African Coffee Organisation in Accra, Ghana.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Inter-African Coffee Organisation is set to enable the 2 institutions cooperate on the support for the development of African coffee value chain in line with the implementation of the #AfCFTA Private Sector Engagement Plan

On 04.04.22 together with the Diaspora African Forum, we launched the 6th Region of Africa Flag @ the #AfCFTA Secretariat, Accra. The diaspora represents a very important constituent of the drivers of the AfCFTA, with significant investment potential for the development of Africa

Thus, it was important to acknowledge and celebrate this symbolic milestone, key to our journey towards achieving #TheAfricaWeWant Creating a single market in Africa will require participation from all of us as a people. Welcome to our brothers & sisters from the 6th #region!

The team also visited #Rubavu port, an upcoming project by TradeMarkEastA aimed at supporting trade by means of water transport between Rwanda and DRC across lake #Kivu. This project after completion will reduce the time of transportation from 9hrs by road to 5 hrs by water.
