#FromTheArchives How far away are you from Hill Air Force Base? This map was displayed at a supply conference post-World War II so that Air Force Bases around the United States could identify their proximity to Hill Air Force Base and the support it provided. #HillAerospaceMuseum

The original clubhouse for the Hubbard Golf Course opened in 1962 at Hill Air Force Base. Recreation areas like this one are important to raising moral, offering a gathering place to blow off steam and connect. #HillAerospaceMuseum #HillAFB

The LGM-30G Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile, or ICBM, is a critical element of the nation's strategic deterrent forces. ICBM mission support plays a major role in the operations at Hill Air Force Base. Photo: Minuteman III fiberglass motor at Hill in the 1970s.

Did you know that it is more complicated to repair an airplane than to build a new one? Fixing torn up aircraft is a difficult, important task that saves the USAF valuable resources. During WWII, Hill Field grew into a thriving installation that "[Kept] em' flyin' and fightin."

In 1954, the United States Congress moved to change November 11th from Armistice Day to Veteran's Day. The Hill Top Times reported on Nov 5, 1954 that the "emphasis this year will be on peace." Happy Veteran's Day from the Hill Aerospace Museum Team! Thank you for your service.
