Early this morning some of our #grad students drove south to Winston-Salem for the SBES Symposium hosted by Wake Forest Biomedical Engineering. Whether it’s an oral presentation or a poster session, we’re looking forward to sharing our #biomechanics #research throughout the day. What an amazing group of students representing the Granata Lab today. Such an amazing group! ❤️ #proudmentor @VTGradCommunity Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics Virginia Tech Engineering

Live from the Bio-Tech Place at Wake Forest University, our first round of presentations about #gait #biomechanics are complete. Great job to Adam Luftglass, Julia Brisbane, Sara ElNahhas, and Jill Streamer representing Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics.

What a great start to #NACOB2022! Running in #Ottawa with Adam Luftglass was great to catch up with an Granata Lab alumni! Ready for some great science. American Society of Biomechanics NACOB Canadian Society for Biomechanics

Congrats to PhD candidate Theresa Libera, M.S. for passing her prelim proposal! Can’t wait to see what she discovers in her #biomechanics #research of lifting and loading in postpartum women! Dr. Robin Queen Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics

‼️New Publication Alert‼️ I am thrilled to share our recent study on #trailrunning #biomechanics with @running_geek and Dan Feeney. We saw that a BOA wrap upper had better qualitative & quantitative fit than laces while running on trail. doi.org/10.3389/fspor.… (1/n)

I loved this study because we were able to recruit a wide range of athletes (Age: 26-56), I was able to apply my knowledge from my time with Karl Zelik and Benno Nigg, and I am able to publish scientific findings from my time in the #footwear industry (5/5)

Amazing sports biomechanics & #ACL project focused on limb stiffness. Congrats Dr. Michael Teater, PhD, ACTAR on successfully defending your dissertation. Thanks to his amazing committee Jake Socha Dan Schmitt from the Animal Locomotion Lab, @Ferris_vball and Miguel Perez! Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics Virginia Tech Engineering

🚨 New Article Alert! 🚨 The effect of upper panel stiffness on biomechanical performance in athletic footwear #footwearscience Adam Luftglass tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

So far the #ACSM23 annual meeting has been tons of fun. Great science & catching up with great friends.Great chance to catch up with Virginia Tech Engineering/Granata Lab alum Adam Luftglass who is doing amazing work with BOA. Also had a time hanging with the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics American College of Sports Medicine

Our paper is out from this study with Eric Honert and @running_geek where we showed that alpine ski boots that wrap the foot improve skier performance and pressure distribution. This study is the culmination of 5+ years of product design and testing frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Couldn’t think of a better way to start the last day of #ASB2023 than with a run & chat with the amazing Adam Luftglass around UT Knoxville. Grateful for amazing students who become great friends and colleagues! Granata Lab Virginia Tech Biomedical Engineering & Mechanics Virginia Tech Engineering
