SmartLynx has now left #Mauritius, with around 800 long-tailed #macaques imprisoned on board. These sensitive & intelligent monkeys-destined for US labs-are being subjected to a shocking & traumatic ordeal, with multiple flights & stopovers. Shame on Dr Navin Ramgoolam official & Mauritius Tourism

800 macaques currently imprisoned in crates on board #SmartLynx which left #Mauritius over 24 hours ago. Many hours still to go via Boston Logan International Airport & John F. Kennedy Airport to Miami - Miami Int'l Airport - landing around 4am on 15 May. #Monkeys are victims of the cruel & inhumane US testing industry.

Hundreds of #monkeys exported from #Mauritius to US testing labs - on #SmartLynx Malta - endured a 43 hour ordeal, involving 7 flights & 6 stopovers. A distressing & terrifying experience for these intelligent, sensitive & social animals. Shame on Dr Navin Ramgoolam official & Mauritius Tourism

Captive Primate Safety Act reintroduced in US Congress. This important Act would ban the keeping of non-human primates as 'pets,' protecting both animals & people. Thank you Mike Quigley, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick ðšðļ, Congresswoman Julia Brownley, Rep. Nancy Mace &Â Richard Blumenthal. tinyurl.com/4bxzpcwb

Thank you Bury Times for reporting on this important issue. As a shareholder in Manchester Airport, Bury Council is being urged to take a stand against inhumane monkey flights that bring hundreds of Endangered monkeys through the airport each year for UK testing laboratories.
