With the help of volunteers, scientists and researchers, NatureUganda coordinates the Bird Population Monitoring scheme in Uganda. Data collected is used to produce an aggregated population trend as an indicator of the general condition of habitats🐦 ⤵️ bit.ly/3OjoGmw

According to the 2019 wetland status report by MINISTRY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENT 🇺🇬 , Uganda's wetland coverage has declined from 15.6% in 1994 to 8.9%in 2019. H.E Yoweri K Museveni has issued several directives regarding #wetlands encroachment, why have these not achieved the desired effect? National Environment Management Authority (NEMA)


🔥🌳A fire broke out in Echuya Forest in South-Western Uganda yesterday! The bamboo and swamp areas have been severely impacted. We extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Dr. Tom Okia Okurut. His tenure as the ED National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) left a lasting legacy in environmental conservation. Our thoughts are with his loved ones, colleagues, and the entire conservation community during this difficult time. RIP.
