In the context of some city council candidates previously posting offensive content, or sharing or liking posts from racist accounts, ABC reaffirms its commitment to Cambridge as an inclusive city.

Our focus is to elect a City Council who'll work to make our vision of abundant, affordable, and stable housing a reality. However we cannot let retweets of white supremacists and Islamophobic or transphobic messages by two city council candidates pass by without comment.

One candidate’s recent refusal to apologize for making a Cambridge Public Library Pride month event for children a possible target for right wing terrorist groups is particularly appalling.

We call on organizations who endorsed these 2 candidates to withdraw their endorsements and are deeply concerned they continue to stand by these candidates. We may disagree on housing and other issues, but none of us should tolerate expressions that demean, harass, or ostracize.

Every Cambridge City Council candidate says they support affordable housing, but this is the slate that will deliver it. Let's elect a truly pro affordable housing Council and move Cambridge forward, not backwards.
