Outdoor Learning today consisted of writing autumnal Haiku poems using the forest as inspiration. We also looked at angles in nature. We are so lucky to have all this space on our doorstep Stirling Outdoor Ed John Muir Trust
Today we were investigating boat design using tin foil to see how many cubes a tin foil boat could hold. We managed 100 in some of the boats before running out of time. We will investigate how many they can truly hold on Monday. Watch this space STEM Ambassadors in Scotland STEM at McLaren High
Today at Code Club we were learning to code a rock, paper, scissors game Micro:bit Educational Foundation
Today our P5/6/7 class laid down hand made poppy crosses in memory of all of those the village of Aberfoyle lost in both World Wars Royal British Legion #wewillneverforget #RemembanceDay
In our bike skills session today, children were learning how to repair a puncture Bikeability Bikeability Scotland #lifeskills
P5/6/7have had a fantastic end to their Titanic topic with an excellent visit to The Tall Ship where they learnt about morse code from retired radio operators and how to set the Captains Table.
A huge thank you to our Junior Management Team for organising a fantastic BBC Children in Need day which involved a super tasty bake sale, class quizzes, fun games and of course, splat the JMT and Mr F! We have raised over £200 so far!
Yesterday P3/4/5 as part of their IDL were investigating layers of soil using a probe. We also used our measuring skills to find out how deep we drilled into the ground Soil Association STEM Ambassadors in Scotland
P5/6/7 were busy building their wind turbines this morning ready for their experiments to see how they can create the most electricity through either blade design or angle of attack on the wind 💨 Huge thanks to Forth Valley College for lending us this wonderful resource STEM Ambassadors in Scotland
