Today, DOSM DOSM released 2022 Household Income Survey report. The last one was in 2019 (report in 2020). There's so much good stuff, but my favourite is the percentile data on OpenDOSM. Using that data, here's the income distribution across all states in Malaysia!

The graphic above captures the huge inequality between regions in Malaysia. It becomes even more striking if we compare the income distributions for just KL and Kelantan (the states at the top and bottom). Worlds apart. Hence why - a 'B40 in KL' is a 'T10 in Kelantan'.

If you just want to see the numbers, here's a simple visual showing the median income in every state.

There is a lot more to dig into - I may post more stuff on HIES (Household Income and Expenditure Survey) in the coming days. Massive props to DOSM DOSM for their work in producing this report + open on OpenDOSM! This data is VERY difficult to produce. Respect.
