Can you easily read the pictured text? It is upside down and backwards so start at the arrow in the bottom left corner. The next tweet has black text on white if that is easier for you to look at. (V3.0)

With the conversations about value semantics and copy-on-write, I thought about how you might implement that in C++. Turns out, C++23's deducing this offers a pretty cute solution to the problem. brevzin.github.io/c++/2022/09/23…

A backlog is not a to-do list. I use the latter all the time (and retire everything on it w/in a day or two, usually w/in hours). I don't use a backlog at all if I can avoid it. A backlog lists contracted work that you haven't completed. The very idea isn't particularly agile.

Maria Made in Cosmos ✨ Which is such an impelling reason to do a review now and again. What is this for? What’s the purpose? Why do we need it? Does it serve us, and if so, how?

This is really disappointing to me. Free speech is the weapon we use to counter disinformation and authoritarian regimes, and prevent discrimination. We must not allow censors to limit free speech. zerohedge.com/geopolitical/n…

Remember: users of your library will look to your tests for examples of how your library can be used, whether or not you want them to do this! Clearly document which tests can or cannot be used as examples, and make your example-able tests readable!

I don't know who needs to hear this but if you are working with a system that makes it easy for you to make mistakes then you are working with a _poorly designed_ system.

Oh for Pete's sake, people. We didn't stop doing Big Design Up Front (BDUF) because it is waterfall. We stopped doing it because it doesn't work well most of the time.

If you don’t understand that free speech has to include things you personally consider odious, you don’t really believe in it.
