My six siblings and I in 1970 and also last night, 2025. My mum is pregnant with my younger sister Kitty in the 1970 pic, so this is the first photograph of the seven of us, and the latest.

Just finished this from 1975, and oof. Absolutely brutal. It’s maybe understandable that Ian Cochrane’s stock isn’t higher - some of this, I’d suggest, is simply unpalatable to modern readers - but much of the writing is enormously powerful. Anybody else out there read any IC?

Great two days spent at Seamus Heaney Centre with Jan Carson. Jan’s insight, humility and candour really crack open the whole world of writing and the business behind it. Hard recommend, if you ever get the chance. Jan Fox (aka Olivia J Fox) Just Cara 💙
