Grad school Prelim exams often induce high levels of stress and anxiety. Last week, 2nd year students who are starting their prelim met with a panel of senior students for advice on how to get started and ways to alleviate some of the stress and anxiety associated with the exam.

Yesterday, we held a well-deserved celebration for UNC Microbiology and Immunology Department students that recently turned in their written preliminary exam, representing a significant milestone of their PhD training!

This is a bittersweet time for PMN. PMN co-founder and long term president Jenny Diaz recently completed her dissertation defense, with an outstanding presentation! We will miss her dearly, but we are incredibly excited for her as she continues her career beyond Grad School!
