I’ve applied for a job recently & waiting to hear about outcome. Is it good or bad omen if my dream last night there was a situation where I was called into an office & sat down with someone who said words to the effect of “Hi I’m from Xyz, congratulations you’ve got the job!”?

As this place is deteriorating further I’m going to try moving my main posting to the other place… 🔵🦋 martynk <.> bsky <.> social [spelled out to avoid potential issue with blocks] Not totally leaving here yet, but going to be reducing my time somewhat.

Another day where Seek job email produced bizarre recommendations for me. You know what kind of job I’m after so why show me “Development Manager - Indigenous Leadership Project” and “Maritime Warfare Officer Submariner Gap Year (No Experience)”?

This seems so deeply stupid. Why do companies block access to their websites like this outside their home market? What is wrong with me looking at what locations they have or checking out their offerings? It makes me actively not want to patronise them when in their country.

Ah yes… Australians that have numerous German CEE 7/3 sockets (in a peculiar installation) would use the absolute tiniest heater that ~somehow~ would save money on heating bills???

Once again Seek suggesting jobs for me…that simply don’t make sense given my searches & what it knows of my experience 🧐🤔

Well that was a pretty bad interview today from my POV. Process not as expected, seeming mismatch of expectations from ad to questions, and things felt off from the start. If anyone was to ask me about jobs in the APS, this is one department that wouldn’t get my recommendation…
