They say higher prices and fewer customers gives too much leverage, but I reject that idea. If customers are given too much leverage, it's a sign the founder has no vision for the product, so they grovel in hopes they don't die. Not a healthy business, regardless of price.

Totally agree. I'm not a business person either, but I hate working for other people so much that I run a business to be able to work on what I want, when I want. The main driver for me is creative freedom.

I've had a $9 plan before. I will never have it again. No serious B2B customers will balk at $30/mo — or even $99/mo — so a $5 tier adds nothing except pain and gnashing of teeth on your end. And you don't want the unserious!

I'm 🤏 close to nixing my free tier in favor of a year trial on the $99 entry tier, as the entire point of my free tier was to not block lead capture in early product lifecycle, not to offer the service for free to production apps.
