Will the next generation of organizers in Rhode Island be grant writers or impacted community members?

1/ Things are looking very bad for RI. There is a lot of evidence that the labor market is deteriorating. Look at continuing claims for unemployment insurance: Not only are they trending much higher, but they have now surpassed their late 2021 value.

2/ More of the same with respect to UI benefit exhaustions. There is a significant uptrend when we want them to be declining. Long-term unemployment is getting progressively worse, along with ongoing unemployment (continuing claims), so this trend will likely continue.

3/ Layoffs, in terms of new UI claims, are extremely volatile, even with seasonal adjustment. They, too, are pointing higher. So, higher new claims cause more continuing claims, ultimately leading to higher benefit exhaustions. Not a very pretty picture!

RI economic data went from bad in February to god-awful in March—the weakest monthly data in a very long time, another contraction month. Based on this, and my CCI values, I can no longer dismiss the strong possibility that RI is in the earliest stages of a full-blown recession.

Harrison Tuttle The G-28 is only for attorneys and DOJ Representatives. It is a USCIS form that let's USCIS know who the attorney of record is for a certain application. Will not work before EOIR (Imm Court) The attorney will need Form E-28.

Harrison Tuttle I-130s can be filed by United States citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents for certain family members. Aprroval of I-130 alone does not grant any status. Will need either I-485 to "adjust status" in the US, or DS260 for consular processing abroad.
