Yesterday I noticed a patient diagnosed with cancer had wrote my name alongside important doctors in their circle of care, on the front of their personal folder of medical notes they made. A small action that felt really special tbh.

The panic I get as a patient approaches me in the hallway for directions and my hospital geography is limited to surgery/eat/sleep

Surgeon (politely): “if you don’t mind me asking, do you have a hemangioma on your cheek?” Me: *happily confirm* ☺️ Surgeon: “that’s so COOL that’s what WE treat!” Yeah it is 🥹🥹 proud to be “cool”& “we” when I grew up so often instead being asking “what’s WRONG with you?”
