This critical assistance reached people in Aleppo, Homs, Al Hasakeh and other areas, including Palestinian refugees in Damascus.

During 2023, EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺 provided funding to improve access to healthcare services for vulnerable communities in #Syria . ECHO funds supported local NGOs to deliver mental health, reproductive health, and other essential healthcare services to vulnerable communities.

Thanks to funding from 🇩🇪 , #WHO Syria has continued its emergency health response in #Syria , providing life-saving support to those most vulnerable and in need.

Aliyah, a paediatric nurse in northern Aleppo, has been displaced six times due to the conflict. She lives in a temporary shelter with harsh conditions and safety risks. She wears bags over her uniform while traveling to keep herself clean and protected.

Health workers are crucial to any health system. Over half of the workforce has left the country, but those who remain in Syria are working hard to care for the vulnerable. Without health workers, the system cannot function.

Thanaa, a nurse from Aleppo, has faced numerous challenges throughout the years of crisis that she will never forget. Despite difficulties in accessing transportation,she managed to reach work every day and provide life-saving care to thousands of patients.
