beautiful narrations of #Syrian #refugees by Wendy Pearlman. They showed impressively how sense of #home & #belonging relates to bonds to people & #place. #displacement disrupts these ties & leads to enforced #transnationalism. see also our report trafig.eu/output/key-fin…
it was an #honour to be part of the The MAGYC Project projects final conference and to discuss our respective experiences& lessons learnt in #migration research that tries to be 'policy relevant', yet is critical & self-reflective. Fantastic scholarship presented here in last 2 days
👏Thanks @Beth_Ferries et al 4 this Journal on Migration & Human Security (JMHS) issue. Great work! I couldnot contribute but happy to see lively debate on rethinking #protractedDisplacement, incl #IDPs situation. 2022 The TRAFIG project team published SCMR SI on unsettling notion of PD.
Finally in my hands 🙌🏾 Yeeaaahhh! Happy about this chapter about moving people in #Kinshasa and #DarEsSalaam I dedicate it to @Esatis and @Nathan-2k . Displaced #people must be supported to use their #talents & move ahead in their lives. 👇Check out this great publication by ICMPD Policy & Research that discusses complementary #labour pathways & maps #transnational #mobility options for #refugees. It builds on earlier #TRAFIG work. 👏
Colleagues from ICMPD Policy & Research collected dozens of #fantastic #initiatives that support #refugees' #labour & #study #mobility after initial #forcedmigration. These #bestpractices show the multiple #complementaryPathways to #protection & brighter futures. Each one deserves huge 👏
important to reiterate in days of #CEAS reform: #refugees' #mobility is not the problem but part of the solution. Further fortifying #EU #borders & curtailing #rights to mobility does not solve any problem but deepens #protractedDisplacement globally. EU Migration Forum UNHCR Representation for EU Affairs
What shapes reintegration after migrants return? zeynepmencutek Clara Schmitz-Pranghe, Ruth Vollmer & Katja Mielke's article summarises findings of 4 years of research on obstacles, perspectives & ways to support #reintegration. Read it here ➡️bit.ly/3PTfbeZ Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung
check out latest study of ICMPD Policy & Research team on policy options after end of #temporaryprotection. Most Ukrainian #refugees will not end up in #protracted #displacement. Unfortunately, 2/3 of the world's @refugees did. It's all a matter of policy choice. 👉trafig.eu/output/key-fin…
proud&happy to work with wonderful colleagues bicc - Bonn Internat. Centre for Conflict Studies on the #causes, #dynamics, #consequences & inherent #violence in #migration and #displacement. Our research is oftentimes challenging &disturbing, but important to drive for changes. FFVT GAPs Return Migration The TRAFIG project
