Seeing the top post on HN about moving from RabbitMQ --> Postgres for a task queue. Question for AWS users -- have you ever *not* used SQS for a queue? And if so, what was the reason -- missing capabilities, price, performance, something else? (I freaking love SQS)

When it's 2am and your MassTransit system won't process messages, where are you going to turn? Get 24x7 critical support with 5-hour or even 1-hour response SLA from the distributed systems experts at Particular Software for as little as $1000 per month. We've got you covered.

In an hour from now, I will be talking about #performance tricks I learned from contributing to the #dotnet #azure #sdk NDC Conferences. Join me in Room 3 ndcoslo.com/agenda/perform… #ndcoslo

Found this lovely doodle at the #NDCOslo conference party and had a nice chat with Szymon Pobiega. Can’t wait to chat with him about #apacheKafka again once KIP-932 makes an official appearance… But even then, Kafka still won’t *be* a queue. 😅

Metrics around queue length, processing times, throughput, and critical time are all metrics that should be monitored, and appropriate alarms when thresholds are reached. Be proactive and understand how you plan on increasing throughput. codeopinion.com/beware-of-cons…

For those who want to further dive into GC and overall memory management in #dotnet after seeing Aaron Stannard talk I can highly recommend Konrad Kokosa book prodotnetmemory.com which is currently getting a second revision 😍#ndcoslo

NDC Oslo is a wrap for me. Before I ✈️ back home to 🇨🇭 I want to take the time to recommend "Message processing failed! But what's the root cause?" by Laila Bougria in Room 3 15:00 #ndcoslo ndcoslo.com/agenda/message…

In just a few moments, you can find Udi Dahan in Room 8 at #ndcoslo talking about #cqrs pitfalls and patterns! ndcoslo.com/agenda/tba-udi…

. Udi Dahan reminds what we tend to forget: the domain model pattern should be used where it is really needed. Simpler solutions work better for simpler functionalities #NDCOslo Ps You can read more about it in the “Design Heuristics” chapter of “🐒 Learning Domain-Driven

Today I’ve seen a physical manifestation of a deadlock. Two waiter robots stuck between the tables at Oslo airport cafe. I guess we need to dust off the Ethernet collision detection and handling algorithms #NDCOslo

Business logic needs to be idempotent in an at-least-once system, but what about message sending logic? Find out in our webinar with Szymon Pobiega buff.ly/3KjknFB
