Interesting that it's now the Albanese government that is suppressing the final report of the Afghanistan Inquiry Implementation Oversight Panel, which was set up explicitly to be *the public's* oversight body. This is the reality of Mr Albanese's 'accountability & transparency.'

If any legacy media journo is willing or able to penetrate the secrecy of the 'Afghanistan Inquiry Implementation Oversight Panel', it would be interesting to see what they made of the realisation that Brereton's findings re command responsibility were so seriously flawed, the

Interesting ti note that the sections on 'command accountability' (incl section headings) have been all but completely redacted in these FOI docs from the Defence Afghanistan Inquiry Implementation 'Oversight' Panel. Tells you everything you need to know.

Pretty much sums up the press gallery's mindless obsession with outrage over trivia while they censor substantive stories such as an ICC referral, because 'government sources say (blah).'

This is the same bloke using the Brereton Report as a figleaf to protect the generals' club from accountability, and for six months buried a report that demolishes Brereton, until his government jailed David McBride. 'But I'm spending lots of money.'

The war crimes that a) the Rudd-Gillard government were informed about and b) turned a blind eye to, occured before the decade you're referring to. By jailing David McBride while ignoring command/superior responsibility, Albanese's motivation is simply to keep his mates out of…

Something for every Australian to consider is that these events were brought to light by ADF veterans, and when our government refused to address the command responsibility failures reinforced in this report, we already (last year) referred the matter to the International

Stuart McCarthy And should we really have Paul Brereton in charge of the NACC while it investigates more high ranking Army officers over the Omni Black Ops outfit? We need to accept the Army is broken and remove their influence and control over investigations into its crimes

Some of Australia's 'Walkley Award winning investigative journalists' were actually reporting on SOTG from Afghanistan around the time McBride was there, but have since consciously decided to perpetuate the ADF/govt 'we didn't know/rogue soldiers' propaganda narratives for them.

Adele Ferguson is a glimmer of hope at the ABC. How Adele can produce a fair, balanced & accurate report on the McBride case in a 15-minute podcast like this - but the best could do was a politically compliant trash piece - still beggars belief.
