I realize this may seem small to some, but "soldiers" is not the correct way to reference the 13 men and women killed at Abbey Gate. 11 were Marines, one was a soldier, and one was a sailor. Troops/service members is all-encompassing. "Soldier" is specifically Army.

Jennifer and Ken Lewis were flight attendants on AA77. Jennifer was my aunt’s best friend. She’d take me to ride her horse Poet when I was a little girl. My aunt has a tiny 77 tattooed on her ankle with a halo above it. 23 years later, that loss is still very real.

Full circle moment. The recruiter that put me in the Army is now in the midst of the SF Qualification Course. And I get to tell his incredible story. Came to the US not speaking a word of English. Refuses to quit. I’ve *never* met a more motivated human. Cheering you on 👏
