That’s my bank holiday run of night shifts over - job’s a good’un.

Albeit tough at times, it’s an absolute privilege and a pleasure #Nursing .

… and now to spend some quality time with this little dude - he isn’t too keen on me working nights (hence the grumpiness). 🐶

It’s #InternationalDayOfTheMidwife , and I’ve much respect for that wonderful group of people. Much of this reinforced by the fact I spent my second year as #Student Nurse living in digs with a lovely group of #Student #Midwives . Kindest and warmth personified they were.

A little time for a cup of tea (decaf of course), a palmier, and a catch-up read of the LRB before a pre-night shift doze. 😴

Executive dysfunction can have major impacts on just about every aspect of long-term memory.

Attention regulation issues can make it hard to focus on the thing we need to remember. Information processing issues can impact how we encode and store memories (1/2)

And NHS Employers have failed to mention the most important items of all

Real terms pay decline over past decade (and better pay in other systems people leave for)

Unmanageable workloads/expectations

Bullying/unsupportive line management

Poor facilities cos of no Capex
