The Rutherford Police Dept had the privilege of attending the “Go the distance for Autism” bike event and 5K run today. We had the opportunity to meet some very friendly people, who had some very good questions, which led to some great conversations. Such an amazing event!

Tuesday, August 6th Due to the probability of severe weather, the Rutherford Police Dept’s National Night Out Event scheduled for tonight has been canceled. We are currently looking into the possibility of rescheduling the event for a later date in August. Updates to follow.

The Rutherford Police Department will host our annual National Night Out Event on Tuesday, August 20th, from 6pm to 8pm inside Lincoln Park. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet the amazing Rutherford Police Officers who so proudly serve and protect this great community.

Due to a Watermain break, there will be water service interruption to several portions of town. The affected area runs North to South between E. Erie Avenue and E. Passaic Avenue and West to East between Park Avenue and Orient Way. Maintenance crews are on scene.

The Rutherford Police Department wants to remind you that we are all responsible for keeping our children safe. The Rutherford Police Department will continue to provide strict enforcement of all traffic and parking violations which occur at or around our schools.

The Rutherford Police Dept receives numerous parking complaints during the school year. One of the most common is blocked driveway violations. We have created an easy to understand visual reference for what is and is not a violation of the New Jersey Title 39 Statute (39:4-138d).
