IPCC are taking part in #BackyardBioblitz for National Biodiversity Week. In the peat free wildlife gardens at the Bog of Allen Nature Centre IPCC have a raised bed for the common nettle! You might find it unusual but nettles are an important food plant for butterflies.
Our breeding bird survey is a great excuse to enjoy the quieter corners of #Mourne .
Take a moment to pause and enjoy the #Skylarks and #MeadowPipits when you’re next in the hills.
… and we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to help with our next survey! #Volunteer
If you’re visiting #BalmoralShow this week call by Section E, Stall E8 in the Regenerative Farming Zone …
Alongside our conservation partners
we’ll be taking about the grazing changes we’ve made in #Mourne and #sustainablefarming
See you there!

Three years on from the devastating Mournes fire, we're continuing our work to restore the landscape. Adjusted grazing, 'no fence' technology & peat restoration are underway. And through #ForeverMournes , we’re ensuring a thriving landscape for generations to come🌄💚
Once common just 2% of grassland can be classed as #SpeciesRich .
We’re working to encourage a species rich sward on our grazing land, the beautiful cowslip being one of the earliest flowers to bloom.

It’s been a busy week
Our #Rangers and #volunteers have been carrying geo-textiles to the #SlieveDonard saddle to begin restoration of the heavily eroded habitat
Thanks to Starling Bank for funding the project
