I got laid off from The Wall Street Journal yesterday.
I’m thankful for my time there, and getting the opportunity to grow and learn from many wonderful humans in the newsroom.
Please send any interesting opportunities my way!
Let’s start anew 🤍
The front page of The Wall Street Journal today is devoted entirely to marking Evan Gershkovich’s one year in Russian captivity - a year of his life lost, 12 months without friends and family, 365 days of not doing the job he so loves #IStandWithEvan
U.S. journalist and my colleague Evan Gershkovich has been wrongly held by Russia for 364 days. As long as he’s there, we The Wall Street Journal will be here to say his name and tell his story. #IStandWithEvan #FreeEvan
It is almost one year since journalist Evan Gershkovich was detained in Russia on charges of espionage.
Gordon Fairclough says he is 'quite isolated' in prison, but adds that, 'writing and receiving letters has been a lifeline for him'.

This crazy awesome lot are swimming for Evan Gershkovich. My colleague wrongly locked in Russian jail for the past year. Brighton Beach is one of his favourites. There are 10 swims at Brighton Beaches going on in his name. Until he can go himself #ISwimForEvan #IStandWithEvan
At last night’s Gridiron Dinner, I thanked President Biden for thinking and speaking about Evan Gershkovich and for his administration’s efforts to secure his release - and urged him to keep up the good fight. (h/t Andrea Shalal for the photo) #IStandWithEvan
300 days of not seeing the sea. 300 days of not being with his family. 300 days of not seeing his friends. 300 days of not writing stories. It’s been 300 days too long. Free Evan now. #IStandWithEvan
It's outrageous that The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich has been wrongfully detained by Russia now for 250 days. I am thinking of him today, and every day.
It's time to bring him home. Journalism is not a crime.

It's been 231 days since Evan was arrested for doing his job as a journalist. It's an absolute outrage and an affront to a free press and free society everywhere. Evan, we will not stop until you are released. #IStandWithEvan #FreeEvan #JournalismIsNotACrime The Wall Street Journal Evan Gershkovich
It's been 231 days since Evan was arrested for doing his job as a journalist. We won't stop until you are released. This weekend I will be in Philadelphia raising awareness while running the Philly Half. #IStandWithEvan #FreeEvan #JournalismIsNotACrime

It's 224 days since our The Wall Street Journal colleague and friend Evan Gershkovich was detained in Russia. Thinking about everything that's happened since late March makes you realize how much has missed, and how much he IS missed by us, his family and friends. #IStandWithEvan #IRunForEvan
31 WEEKS. The Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich is being held in a Russian prison, accused of a crime that the U.S. and the Journal say he absolutely did NOT commit. He's a journalist, and he was there to do his job—a job he loves #IStandWithEvan #FreeEvan #Journalismisnotacrime
