This is where I grew up. Post-war purpose built council housing. It's Achilles Street - bang in the middle of New Cross. Like 100s of other 'estates' across London, it's under threat of demolition. It's the most socially and environmentally regressive policy happening atm.

LCC Soap! One of many fun Christmas gifts celebrating London's unique municipal design heritage we are launching this year. Paging Kasia Tee and Dan Hancox.

Really enjoyed 'Living' last night. The world definitely needs more films about the LCC. Seeing the County of London Plan's 'Open Space Plan' on a wall in the background of a scene was, quite frankly, thrilling! Wore my Architecture Foundation LCC wavy lines badge, obviously.

At 12 years tenure Jennifer Brainwaitee was in charge when the listed sheltered housing of Macintosh Court was comprehensively vandalised at a cost of over £2.5 mil. So "excellent" were the roof repairs that they have all been redone. Great record to boast about.
