We hope everyone is enjoying being back at Dunnottar School. After a little over two weeks, the sun is shining, our new P1s are settling in well, and children across the school continue to participate in a range of learning and play indoors and outdoors! ☀️ 🎒 ✏️

Primary 4 have been learning all about the digestive system. Today they followed the journey of food from the mouth, down the esophagus, into the stomach (where stomach acid is added), through the intestines (where the water is removed) and out the end as POO! Lots of fun!

Here are some photos of P7 enjoying their visit from one of our parents. They spent the day learning about enterprise and scottish inventors, ending in a manufacturing task where they had to create a product and market it to the rest of the class.

In November the P7s led a very respectful and informative Remembrance Service for the school and P7 parents. Mr Ness played the Last Post for us on the cornet. Lest we forget.

Yesterday P7 had a visit from Mrs Stirling, an English Teacher from Mackie Academy. Mrs Stirling ran a lesson, about Christmas Haikus, with the children and enjoyed getting to know everyone. This was the first of a number of visits from the Mackie English and Maths departments.

Today the Digital Otters were lucky enough to be visited by the Stonehaven Community Police Officer, to talk with us about internet safety, social media and cyber bullying. It was a fantastic session with lots of interesting questions from the children.
