My favorite part of using VBT at the high school level? Being able to get "maxes" immediately. We can work to a 0.5 max - safely - I can set an athletes max from the start to gives us ballpark numbers to work from going forward Massive when working in huge groups

The biggest compliment a Strength Coach can give an athlete… Use them for your demo. If they trust you to demo and teach, you’re probably one of their highest performing athletes.

Gone are the days of kids being smoked for the entire week because of barbaric testing rituals. We can now set these kids up for success thanks to people like OVR Performance making VBT affordable for all.

You don’t have to pick an exclusionist S&C cult. We lift heavy. We lift fast. We sprint with max intent. We condition. We do prehab type exercises and ISO’s. Sometime we use supersets and contrast pairings, sometimes we don’t. No need to pick just one.

In honor of high school football Friday: Don’t forget that synchronized static stretches, clapping, and chanting isn’t a real warm up should not be treated as such. No matter how cool it looks or sounds.

4 reasons to train on game day- 1) Keeping the volume low-soreness is NOT an issue. 2) Blood Temp⬆️, mobility, better primer and warm up than taking a lap and doing stretching circles. 3) ⬆️Performance- CNS 🧠 Response. 4) Mentality- Mental prep, attitude and

Still one of the biggest issues I see from Coaches, lack of systems. You need to have them. If you can’t step away from your athletes or business for a week without shit going south, that’s a problem. Systems first, methods second.

Showing up is the most important lesson you stress to youth athletes when trying to build a foundation of health and strength. Consistency is king, the rest usually takes care of itself. July ➡️ September chin-up progress with a 7th grade tennis 🎾 athlete.

Most youth athletes don’t know how to jump. Their form and coordination are lacking, The biggest initial gains from jumping are via form Learning process: 1. Measure jumps 2. Kids are shocked by low number 3. Opportunity to teach form/intent 4. See gains

gofund.me/0d78adea Hey there! I wanted to share a GoFundMe for Niko, who’s been through a tough time after a serious leg injury and multiple surgeries. Every donation, no matter the size, will really help his family with the medical costs and support his recovery.

Today’s weight training session was all about agility and power. Change of direction drills, dynamic squats, jumps, and the girls dominated their cleans! Lely High School

If you’re doing 10 sprints in a 2 minute span, you’re not “speed training.” If you’re doing sets 15 box jumps rapidly you’re not building power If you’re doing “90%,” of your max for 10… no you’re not Things work if applied the right way Rest, move full speed, keep reps low
