This is an excellent, excellent thread. Fraud (& the use of QRPs to an extent that borders on fraud) directly and indirectly harms scientists who do it the right way. Things have improved a lot, but we need more progress, reforming institutions to align incentives w/ good science

PSA: stop adding a static number to your logged count variables to 'deal with zero values' in your OLS regression model. Use a fucking poisson model, for fuck's sake!

Maybe it was a fever dream?

If I find it I will post.

If I don’t, I’ll let folks know as well so I don’t spread misinformation.

Need help finding a paper that I read which finds that people are more likely to question/publish corrections for findings from scholars of color, women, and early career researchers.

Anyone know the citation?

I’ve been seeing a lot of people quoting stats that show more athletes died in the last year than have died in the last 38 years. Is this true? No, let’s chat about it. A 🧵👇🏻
