A quick thought:

Most of the new metro/LRTs lines is LA are being dug under 30-40m wide straight boulevards.

Turin is building a mainline 2.7 km 2-track rail C&C tunnel with one station plus a 400m long road underpass in the middle of a 50m wide boulevard, for 175M€.
