Two more frustrating vetoes from Governor Janet Mills today. LD 373, my bill, would have promoted labor agreements at clean energy facilities, creating good jobs in a new industry. LD 1231 would have cut taxes for middle class Mainers by partially restoring a tax on the very wealthy.
Amazing new report on automatic stabilizers from Darrick Hamilton, Naomi Zewde ናሆሜ ዘውዴ, and Chris Hughes. Their proposal complements UI, but is simpler + more effective. General fund transfers since 1970s to UI are small + clumsy. Let's do the real thing!
